Types of Successful Fundraisers with Avon for your Nonprofit Organization
Flyer Fundraising Ideas for Nonprofit Organizations – Avon Flyer Fundraisers are a great option for nonprofit organizations who have a targeted audience that supports their nonprofit organization. The current flyer fundraisers offer nonprofits the abilities to sell everything from skin so soft, to bug guard, to children’s bath supplies, to makeup. The best part is, each flyer fundraiser features a core AVON product. What you find most often is that in many areas, people are actively searching for an Avon Representative so that they can purchase these core products. By using an Avon Flyer Fundraiser, you could be serving a need in your community while simultaneously raising money for your organization.
Stuffed Animal Fundraising Ideas for NonProfit Organizations – Each year in the fall and winter, Avon features a new plush that is a fundraising favorite for nonprofit organizations. The plush is generally fairly large and cuddly – often 13′ or more and it is a great quality. Organizations can sell these stuffed animals and earn up to 50% commission from the sales.
Make $800 or More with an Avon Fundraiser – What if there was a way to use the plush to raise money, while SIMULTANEOUSLY providing a charity to your organization’s local community. In short, you could sponsorships for the plush, and then give the plush to local organizations that cater to underprivledged children. Avon stuffed animals have been given to area first responders for times when they are dealing with children in the field. They have been donated to children’s hospitals. And my own nonprofit organization, The Hailey Hugs Initiative collects the stuffed animals for families grieving loss.
Online Fundraiser – Avon Online fundraisers are a wonderful option for nonprofit organizations looking to raise money. They offer flexibility because the organization simply has to share a link with its supporters. The purchase options are limitless for supporters – as they will be able to shop the entire Avon website, including current Avon Brochures online. This is a great option for organizations that have a strong social media or online presence.
How to Run a Successful Fundraisers with Avon for your Nonprofit Organization
Running successful fundraisers with Avon for your nonprofit takes consistency and it requires you to be persistent. It requires you to be organized and to communicate with your supporters.
Here are a few tips about how to run a successful fundraiser for your nonprofit organization.
Be Consistent
The key to running a successful fundraisers with Avon is for the organization to consistently share the fundraiser. You cannot expect to share a link to a Facebook Page one time and have the money rolling in. You have to consistently be advertising your fundraiser to your followers and supporters every day – even multiple times per day. .
Be Persistent
Research shows that most consumers make a purchase after seeing something SEVEN times.
You read that correctly.
It takes SEVEN times for consumers to make a purchase.
As a result, it is imperative that you be consistent and persistent about sharing the information (and reminding!). Let’s face it. We are all busy – and many of us are running 100 different directions. I can’t tell you how many times I have gone to buy something online, got distracted by, well, LIFE, and abandoned my cart and never followed through with the purchase.
That’s why you have to constantly remind your supporters about your fundraiser.
Be Organized
Ensure that you have all the proper pieces in place before you begin to advertise your fundraiser to your supporters. When it comes time for them to make a purchase to support your cause, it should be as seamless and easy for them as possible. Don’t make them jump through extra hoops to support you. Make sure they have all of the information they need up front so that their experience is a pleasant one.
Communicate your Cause
If you were scrolling your Facebook page one day and saw a picture with a random link that said SHOP TO SUPPORT- would you click on it? Would you buy from that type of fundraiser if a flyer like that came home in your child’s folder?
What about if you saw a post that told a story about a cause you were passionate about? Would you be more or less likely to click on it? What if the flyer included a cover page with a story about what your money was being used toward?
Stories are powerful. And let’s face it. People are being bombarded from everywhere from someone trying to sell them something. You’re passionate about your cause – why not let some of that passion show through. Tell a story about what kind of an impact will come from a person shopping – and how you plan to use the money. This will generate a better response.
Communicate your Goals
Your supporters want to help you reach your goals. But if you don’t spell them out, people won’t know how to help you reach them. If you’re a school organization raising money for prom – communicate with your supporters! Tell them how much money you are looking to raise and provide them with information about what the money is being raised to fund. Maybe you need a new piece of equipment or technology system. Provide images and details about the system so that supporters know exactly what they are funding.
Get your Members Involved
One person can’t do it all. It will take all of the members working together toward a common goal. Take a minute to think about the different members who help with your nonprofit organization. It’s likely that they all have different strengths. If you can use those strengths, it will make for a more successful fundraiser.
For example – we mentioned a number of times above about the importance of telling stories. Maybe you have someone in your organization that is amazing with words! That person could help draft the stories and the flyers. While your Avon Representative may help you with supplies, she will never know your organization’s story as well as you or the members do.
If you are with a school or youth organization – what could happen if you got the kids involved? The way our youth communicates these days is revolutionary. Kids are becoming famous for playing with toys on YouTube. Imagine what your youth could do with a Facebook LIVE to their friends and family explaining the fundraiser and mentioning a few products recommended by your Avon Representative.
When it comes to typical school fundraisers, the kids used to be involved selling door to door for a prize. Your Avon Fundraiser should be no different with getting the kids involved and asking them to help raise the money as well.
Facebook Groups for Successful Fundraisers with Avon
As an Avon Representative, I have tools at my disposal to help you be consistent and communicate about the products that are being sold. We can work together as a partnership to help you succeed with your fundraiser.
While I know about the Avon products and how to sell them, you know about the heart of your nonprofit organization. If we work together and play to each’s other strengths, as a team we can really run a successful fundraiser for your nonprofit organization.
One way to do this is through a Facebook private group. While this should not be the ONLY avenue of advertising your fundraiser, it should definitely be one of them.
As an Avon Representative, I have access to sales tools that will allow me to schedule posts to your fundraiser group every day. This will help keep your fundraiser consistent. However, the success of your fundraiser cannot depend on my posts alone.
The Organizations Role
It would work well to delegate a member or several members of your organization to also have admin privileges in the group. Those members should add as many contacts as possible to the Facebook group.
Supporters of your fundraiser should be encouraged to add people to the group as well. The more people in the group – the more exposure for your fundraiser.
Your members and supporters can start by adding their family and friends – but they could even invite their entire Facebook friends list to the group.
Once the group has been established and people have been added, members of your nonprofit organization should take an active role in promoting the fundraiser by telling stories – like the ones mentioned above. The members should make posts about why the organization is running the fundraiser and how it plans to use the funds. This is a great opportunity to provide pictures and visual examples of how the funds will be used.
Other Ways to Advertise Your Nonprofit Organizations Fundraiser
Facebook is a powerful tool to advertise your nonprofit organization’s fundraiser, however, you can also advertise using other means of communication with your supporters.
Flyers
Work with your Avon Representative to print flyers advertising key products and explaining your organizations purpose and cause. Indicate how people can place orders. Hang your flyers at local businesses, send them home with children, and use them to communicate with business owners who may also want to contribute.
In my business, we receive numerous fundraising requests. We ask that the requests include a person’s name and contact information to receive a donation. Don’t discount alerting local businesses of your Avon fundraiser. You never know who might contribute. Be sure to let the business know how they can contact you.
Local Media
Depending on your cause, it’s very likely that local media may be interested in covering your fundraiser. Again, this is another case of getting really personal about your cause and why you need to raise money.
When you decide to do a fundraiser, draft a press release alerting the local media. Be sure to include your contact information. Pro tip: provide as much of the information as possible in the press release. Sometimes smaller newspaper will cover the fundraiser as a community announcement without ever calling you for further information. The more work as you can do FOR the newspaper – the better your chance of getting your fundraiser covered.
Which Avon Fundraiser is the Best Choice for Your Nonprofit Organization
Choosing the right Avon Fundraiser for your organization will be imperative to its success. Before you decide on one, be sure to assess your organization’s goals.
Know ahead of time how much money you are looking to make and how much time you have to raise money. Take some time to think about who your supporters are and what they are likely to buy to support you.
Talk with your Avon Representative and ask her advice on how to best achieve your goals based on the assumed preferences of your supporters.
