Money Saving Tool Kit for Families – There’s one week during the year that everyone does their shopping on overdrive.
You know what I mean, Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Right after Thanksgiving.
And while this is a great time to shop and save, don’t get me wrong, I have some hints on how I actually save TONS of money ALL YEAR round.
That’s right, I use a money-saving toolkit for families and it has worked well for me for three years now.
So today, I’m going to show you how I saved nearly $6000 in 2020 on products I was already buying anyway.
Although I have actually expanded my money saving tool-kit to actually put extra cash in my pocket, you can use these tips to get started. And maybe my expansion will work for you. Or maybe you will expand your money saving toolkit for your family!
I have put together my money-saving tool-kit arsenal on how I stacked offers to save more than $6000 this year. None of what I am about to show you COSTS you any extra money than what you are already spending.
Do you have any money saving ideas that you use every year? Tell me about them in the comments so we can all save together!
So let’s get into it.
Money Saving Tool Kit Tip for Families #1
Table of Contents
Cash back credit cards.
I use a variety of cash back credit cards to save money all year long,. My favorite is the Citi Double Cash card which gives me 2% cash back on EVERYTHING I purchase throughout the year. When I shop on a credit card, I always pay off the card at the end of the month. With this Citi card, you will actually earn 1% cash back when you spend and 1% cash back when you pay the card off. So this is a great option for me. This is also a great option if you have a small business – like a direct sales business where you place orders for customers. I am an Avon Representative and when customers order, I put their order on my Citi Card and earn cash back. Then collect the money from them to reimburse myself. Grab the Citi Card link from the description box below to apply.
Discover IT – Top Money Saving Credit Cards for Families
I love the Discover IT card because at the end of your first year, Discover will actually MATCH the amount you earn in your first year! Plus it has revolving categories like grocery store, gas station, big box subscription stores, PayPal, and more.
These revolving categories get you 5% cash back when you spend there so you actually get 10% cash back by the end of the year. All other purchases come in at 1%. Grab the link for the Discover IT card in the description box below.
Chase Freedom Top Money Saving Credit Cards for Families
Like the Discover card, the Chase Freedom card earns you 1% on all purchases. But there are also revolving categories that earn you 5% cash back. This is a good option to increase the amount of your cash back by using the Chase Card when you shop in the revolving categories.
Money Saving Tool Kit Tip for Families #2 Rakuten
I love stacking my cash back credit card earnings with offers from Rakuten (formerly e-bates). Rakuten is a one stop shop for finding ALL The discount codes for the stores you are already shopping with.
And WHY would you pay full price when you can shop with a discount code?
But that’s not all, you’ll actually get cash back on your purchase when you click through the link at rakuten before you shop.
So you can add that cash back percentage to the amount you just accumulated by shopping with your cash back credit card.
I’m an Avon Rep too, so I have to tell you – Avon is listed on Rakuten periodically – so if you sign up as my customer using the link below, and you shop through rakuten, you’ll get extra cash back on your Avon orders with me too!
Money Saving Tool Kit Item #3 Swagbucks
I have accumulated SO MUCH MONEY with Swagbucks offers. When you sign up for Swagbucks, you can earn “swagbucks” for watching videos, taking surveys, and shopping. Once you have accumulated enough Swagbucks by performing tasks, you can redeem your swagbucks for gift cards OR cash them out to Paypal – which is just extra cash in your pocket.
There are a couple of groups I follow to help me save money with Swagbucks and I’ll link them below.
The Swagbucks Facebook page is one. But there are TONS of great ideas on how to maximize how much you earn with Swagbucks on the Swagging your way to Disney Facebook group.
I’ll link a couple of other helpful groups below that can show you the current swagbucks offers that will make you the most money.
Money Saving Tool Kit Item #4 – Perks!
As an Avon Representative, I have access to a discount savings program called Avon Perks. Let me tell you everything I get from Avon Perks in just a second. It is 100% FREE right now to sign up to become an Avon Rep and there are no penalties or requirements to order. Check out the links in the description for more info.
Avon Perks is sponsored by perkspot. It is a full-service discount program that many companies use to get their employees employee discounts and deals. Here are a list of things that I have saved money on with Avon Perks:
- Apple Computer, Phone, TV, watch discount
- Costco Membership
- Sam’s Club Membership
- Printer
- Disney on Ice Tickets
- Disney Theme Park Tickets
- Movie theater tickets
- 8% off my cell phone bill
- Discounts on my auto and home insurance
Just to name a few.
It works similarly to ebates. I log into my Avon account and click through the link to shop the store and redeem my special low pricing.
Of course anything I save money on by shopping through Avon perks, I keep in my pocket so that’s more money overall.
So using that small toolkit I have put an extra $6000 in my bank account this year.
Money Saving ToolKit for Me – and Maybe You?
But that doesn’t even count how much I have earned as an Avon Representative. IN my first year as a rep, I actually paid for my family’s trip to Disney world with my earnings from my Avon Business.
It’s a great time to join Avon right now because it is completely FREE and you can earn $3300 in four months when you follow the Pathway to Premier Program! I’d love to show you how I run my business completely online through blogging. Check out the description box below for info on how to become a beauty blogger that promotes Avon. Or maybe even how to start a blog to help you earn some extra cash.
I hope my ideas can help you on your journey to put some extra cash in your pocket this year! My toolkit may be small, but I believe in keeping things simple and manageable.
What is in your money saving aresenal? I’m always looking for ways to keep some cash in my pocket. Tell me in the comments how you save money every year and lets learn from each other.
Hey everyone! My name is Jennifer Francis. I’m a Mom and a stepmom and I’m always looking for ways to take my family of five on vacation every year. We are Disney fanatics and I don’t know if you know this or not, but it’s not cheap to take your family to Disney. Also, my five year old daughter Lauren is a little ice skater, so I use these ideas to help save money to pay for her ice skating lessons, competitions, costumes and gear.
