Avon Network Marketing – The way to network and market like a pro as an Avon Representative is to be consistent at developing connections. Finding ways to network and expand your market every day are the keys to success.
This year during Avon Repfest – Power in Numbers, we learned different ways to “Network Like a Pro”. A panel, consisting of five Avon Representatives gave answers to questions about network marketing, developing connections and growing in their communities -both online and in-person.

I LOVE asking customers for their testimonials so that I can always be talking about the products in BENEFITS.
Let’s face it.
People only really care what the product is going to do for THEM.
Customer testimonials are so powerful. How often do you read reviews on a movie, hotel, car, or product before you decide what to consume? And who would you trust more than your friends?
I ask my customers to take pictures of themselves using the products and tag me or sometimes they allow ME to take their pics and post on my page and I will write their testimonial for them. Then I tag them in my post.
This allows me to expand my reach by reaching their friends.

Who doesn’t love freebies and coupon codes? I know I do. I don’t shop unless I have a coupon code.
Our customers are no different. What if you could give them incentive for referring friends. Some representatives will give their customer a free gift if they refer a customer to them.

Fundraisers are a great way to network in the community. When you can find a way to connect your passions to your business and use your business as an avenue to help others, great things can happen.
As a result of my Hailey Hugs Initiative fundraiser – which centers around the stuffed animal and a copy of my children’s book A Hug Through the Air.
Because my fundraiser has connected me with other people who have the same passion and who care about the same cause, I have gained new customers who may have never given Avon a try. And it all started when they donated or learned about my fundraiser.
Best Social Media Platform for Your Avon Network Marketing Business
This is a personal preference . For me, I began building my business on Facebook, but then slowly expanded to other networks. I started on Facebook because it was comfortable to me, as I was already using it daily.
I next expanded to Instagram and learned to use hashtags. For about six months of using Instagram, I was afraid of hashtags.
That’s right. Afraid of them.
Because I didn’t know how to use them properly. I found out that instagram does most of the work for you, when you begin to type in a hashtag.
I have since expanded to Youtube, Pinterest and LinkedIn to market my Avon Business.
What is One thing You can do to Expand your Avon Network Marketing Business?
The first thing I suggest to my team is to find their passion. Then I recommend that they develop a cause around that passion and begin fundraising. The fundraiser does not have to be an Avon sponsored fundraiser.
You can determine a group of products that you can “bundle” together. Determine the cost for the “bundle” and figure out who you will donate it to. Advertise the bundle as a “sponsorship” and collect money from others to “Sponsor” a bundle.
Once you have collected the money, purchase the products and donate it to the cause. Be sure to document your donation with pictures so that you can market any further fundraisers.
Apart from fundraising, you can expand your network by joining community organizations in your area.
But, most importantly, when you are out and about – LOOK UP FROM YOUR PHONE!! Say hello! You don’t have to wave your Avon Flag the minute you say hello. But take the time to make connections with people and you never know when that connection might lead to Avon.
And even if it doesn’t, at the very least, you made a new friend.
How to Make Connections without being Salesy
8. How do you make new connections without being too “salesy”?
On social media – I LOVE reaching out to five friends a day. A Good practice is to LIKE their post. It’s a BETTER practice is to COMMENT on their post and the BEST practice is to send them a message.
But here’s the key: You DO NOT have to talk to them immediately about Avon. Maybe leave them a meaningful compliment. But be GENUINE! Don’t be fake. And don’t do it to expect something in return. At the very least you should be looking at it as a way to reconnect and make new friends – NOT expecting them to BUY.
Here is what can happen with this strategy:
- It makes people FEEL GOOD! This is a people business. People buy from people they like. If you make someone FEEL GOOD, when they are ready to buy, they will choose YOU.
- With Facebook Algorithmns, you only see so many of your friends’ posts. When you interact with people you haven’t interacted with in awhile, it boosts YOUR posts up in their feed. That means they are seeing YOU and YOUR posts!!
So you make someone feel good – and now they are seeing your posts. Since people buy from people they like , what do you think their reaction will now be to your posts? I bet it’s a better reaction than before you connected.
Pro tip: Go through your Facebook Friends list and separate your friends into categories to make this easier – or go through your list and find five friends a day that you haven’t talked to in awhile.
What if an Avon Network Marketing Experience Doesn’t Go as Planned?
I feel like in this business, everything is about TIMING. But it isn’t necessarily about OUR timing.
So many times WE NEED to hit a goal to earn a trip or jump a title, so we expect people to be on the same schedule as us.
The problem is they aren’t. They’re on THEIR schedule and want to do things on THEIR timing.
I reached out to someone who I thought would make the BEST Avon Representative. She is chatty and has lots of friends.
Can you believe it? She told me NO!
So I dropped it…..kind of.
Her husband worked in the same building as me at the time and he started asking me how we were able to afford vacations. When I told him my Avon business pays for them, I mentioned that I had spoken to his wife about becoming an Avon Representative. I also showed him some Avon products and I sent a book home so she could give it a second look.
The first time I approached her was in NOVEMBER.
It wasn’t until FEBRUARY that she signed finally signed up.
Sometimes it just takes time. But we have to consistently and consciously be putting the opportunity out there every day and eventually things begin to fall into place.
Why Is Avon the Place to Be?
I am so excited about the new innovative products being released and the digital marketing strategies that are becoming more and more available.
Resources like Avon Social and Avon U cost other direct marketing reps thousands of dollars.
But, most of all, our products are becoming #buzzworthy, having been featured in BIG name magazines and publications.
What could happen if we were able to target influencers in our own businesses to market these innovative products? What would that do for OUR business? My business would skyrocket probably overnight if I could recruit an influencer – but think of the image that Avon would start to get if enough people could target and recruit them.
Now is the perfect time for a strategy like this – with a free online store and inexpensive sign up options – there really isn’t anything to lose!
